Topic description

In this topic students will continue with focused skill acquisition to be incorporated into their major projects. Stand-alone projects will allow for skill acquisition and development, and visual experimentation which can be either stand alone, or be integrated into larger projects. Research underpins both the projects, which facilitates this topic working in conjunction with other third year, project based topics.

Educational aims

This topic aims to:

  • Give students the space to conduct and apply creative research
  • Provide students with challenging and unique creative projects
  • Require students to explicate their creative works
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

  1. Analyse and develop creative research
  2. Apply research outcomes to practical projects
  3. Work independently and efficiently to realise high level creative outcomes
  4. Explain the connection between their creative research and their practice
