This topic builds on the practical experiences in Outdoor Adventures and requires students to consider and apply the roles and responsibilities of 'leaders' in outdoor activities. Students will explore requirements, responsibilities and skills in the planning, leading and culminating of these activities and use this to create and outdoor adventure experience for others. They will apply an understanding of the technical, logistical, legal and facilitation requirements and skills necessary for leadership in the broad field of Outdoor Education. Students will also analyse the potential environmental impacts of promoting these areas and activities to others and demonstrate an understanding of environmental and ethical responsibilities. There will be the opportunity to continue towards relevant basic skills qualifications as well as assistant leadership qualifications, particularly if Outdoor Adventures has been successfully completed.
