The topic focuses on the acquisition of multiliteracies in preschool through early years of school contexts and the major theoretical frameworks which influence teaching practices. Modules in the topic include: the link between oral and written language; the elements in a balanced literacy program; catering for individual needs; planning and assessing literacy learning and creating a supportive learning environment.
