The topic will prepare students for their third year professional experience in light of perspectives on contemporary Australian and international Early Childhood research and practice. It will introduce the legal, ethical and professional responsibilities students will be expected to execute on placement, as well as the communicative and technical research skills they will need to use when theorising and implementing their placement site’s inquiry focus.

Expected learning outcomes

  • recognise the legal and ethical responsibilities they will assume as they enter the teaching profession
  • develop a research inquiry that will effectively contribute to young children’s learning over time
