This topic aims to provide students with an understanding of the general physiological principles that underpin most disease processes and a more detailed knowledge in a range of specific human diseases.

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

  1. Demonstrate a broad knowledge of normal human physiology for understanding pathophysiological processes
  2. Outline the basic physiological processes that underpin human diseases
  3. Explain the logical pathophysiological process of how a disease leads to a particular symptom
  4. Search and critically analyse scientific literatures relevant to diseases
