Topic description

This topic covers techniques and protocols of wireless and mobile network architectures and examines the effect mobility has on networks, systems and applications.

Educational aims

This topic aims to explores the difference between wired and wireless networks and the principles of mobile and wireless communications including "traditional" wireless networks and ad hoc mobile networks as well as enabling technologies such as WiFi and cellular, Bluetooth, VoIP, mobile OS, and location based services.

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:
