Topic description

This topic will build on the skills and knowledge developed in SCME8300 Creative Workshop 1. In this topic students will work in collaborative teams, with industry mentors in their specialised digital media field, to further enhance their skills in pre-production processes leading to the development of an industry standard creative pitch.

Educational aims

This topic aims to:

  • Expand students' technical, conceptual and practical skills and knowledge in their chosen field, under the guidance of industry mentors
  • Enhance students' ability to interpret and communicate complex ideas and concepts in a multi-disciplinary context
  • Provide opportunities for students to experience and incorporate feedback from industry professionals in regards to their work practices
  • Further enhance students' advanced knowledge of, and the ability to use, relevant industry software and hardware
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

  1. Present an industry standard creative pitch developed from a brief
  2. Demonstrate the ability to receive and implement constructive feedback from industry professionals
  3. Plan, construct and implement strategies to improve individual work practices
  4. Apply advanced conceptual, technical and creative skills and knowledge to implement pre-production processes and solve complex issues arising from the creative process
  5. Demonstrate high-level knowledge of, and skills in the use of, relevant industry software and hardware used in the digital production pipeline
