This topic will provide students with a supervised learning experience within the clinical disciplines across the community and hospital sectors. Students will focus on the revision of important knowledge and principles in the relevant clinical domains and the consolidation of their abilities as self-regulated learners, as appropriate to their year level.
Depending on the specific gaps, students will gain opportunities in targeted clinical settings to revise and regain knowledge and skills, including procedural skills. This will be underpinned by a supportive learning coach program to assess ability to take on feedback, identify deficiencies and develop learning plans.
The aim is for the student to be able to demonstrate their ability to return to and succeed in a clinical learning environment in a supported and focused program. The topic will be assessed using a range of approaches to ensure the student has demonstrated the willingness to engage with, and ability to succeed, in their next phase of study.
This topic aims to enable students to competently and confidently return to a clinical learning environment within the Doctor of Medicine through an individualised program of knowledge, attitude and skill revision.
