Assumed knowledge
Basic knowledge of research skills and practices developed in AUDI9204.
Topic description
Class Contact: 4 - 6 hours of group study per week.

In this topic students will design, conduct and write up a research project in small groups. Students will meet together regularly in their groups and with their supervisor(s) through the semester and will present in groups, the project and its findings in both oral and written forms, towards the end of the semester.
Educational aims
The aims of the topic are:

  • for students to develop hands-on skills in the design, conduct and write-up of research projects

  • for students to develop skills in the oral and written presentation of research findings

  • for students to develop skills in a team-based approach to conducting research

Expected learning outcomes
Students will demonstrate the ability to undertake a minor research project involving the collection and / or collation of research data, undertake basic analyses of the data and to interpret and to write scientifically about their findings.
