Topic description

This topic provides students with an overview of a wide range of issues relating to sustainable engineering including the areas of environmental assessment, design and management. Specific content covered in this topic includes environmental modelling for impact assessment, energy efficient design, power management, environmental law and policy, environmental impact assessments and ecosystems. This topic has a focus on creating solutions for specific real-world problems including agriculture, transport and energy production and use. This topic will also provide students with the skills and knowledge to apply and help develop environmental management systems through the application of ISO14000.

Educational aims
