Must Satisfy: ((1 or 1a or 1b or 1c)) and (((2 or 2a)) or ((3 or 3a)))

The topic will centre on advanced workshops in scene construction, including designing shots and sequences, blocking for the camera, the use of off-screen space, as well as sound and editing.

This topic aims to:

Develop the basic production skills established in first year screen production topics
To further students' development of the technical skills and production teamwork required in television studio production
To develop students' ability to analyse short scripts or excerpts
Assist students to apply their analytical skills to creative television production

On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

Demonstrate an advanced understanding of mise-en-scene

Demonstrate the ability to conceive and execute complex scene construction in film

Demonstrate an enhanced understanding of the relationship between production and post-production
