Topic description

In this topic students will create their summative work. This will be designed to facilitate a showcase of students’ work and knowledge, which may be presented in a range of formats. This topic builds on all prior topics and allows students to view their overall learning, and skill acquisition, as a complex whole as they move towards their future roles in industry.

Educational aims

This topic aims to:

  • Provide students with the scope to research relevant roles in industry
  • Facilitate creation of reflective and summative projects, which highlight the skills of the student
  • Allow the student to understand the role of digital artists in the industry, and the community, and to view their own practice in these contexts
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

  1. Articulate the functional and creative aspects of the digital media industries
  2. Present their acquired skills to industry, both verbally and visually
  3. Produce a major work to contribute towards their final portfolio
