This topic is taught and assessed as a continuum. Students must enrol and complete the topic components in consecutive semesters.

Admission to the topics requires an application to do a research project.

Topic description

Students will undertake an individual research project in their discipline area under guidance of an academic and/or industry supervisor.

Educational aims

The topic will provide students with an opportunity to undertake an individual research project. Students will apply their knowledge to complex problem, develop and implement an approach to solve it.

Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

  1. Undertake an individual research project
  2. Develop and justify a research question(s) or hypotheses based on prior research and/or theory
  3. Design and conduct a study to appropriately address a research question(s) (or to test hypotheses)
  4. Analyse and effectively synthesise research data and communicate research results/findings
