This topic is concerned with interventions assisting persons with disabilities through the life-cycle, including those with intellectual disability, brain injury, autism spectrum disorder, cerebral palsy, vision and auditory impairment and others with learning difficulties. Students will be practically involved with concepts of prescriptive teaching and designing of individual educational and support programs; remedial teaching; and field experience in the assessment, remediation and evaluation of teaching programs designed to support people with disabilities. Theory and practice will be linked closely in this topic and it is planned that students carry out a wide range of assessments and apply theory to the development, application and evaluation of learning programs.
