Students should have completed at least half of their degree.
Topic description
Students undertake an industry placement. Students are placed and matched with placements according to availability and suitability. Students are prepared for their placement, enter into a learning contract to guide the work integrated learning experience and are supervised.
Educational aims
This topic aims to provide a practical orientation to the workplace in preparation for a business career. This orientation takes the form of a placement experience in a business setting.
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of the topic students should be able to:
  1. Develop personal goals to enable you to enhance your personal skills and competencies through observation, discussion and practice in a business setting.
  2. Reflect upon your learning from University and apply disciplined based knowledge and skills to a professional workplace.
  3. Communicate effectively and appropriately with peers, industry professionals and supervisors; convey information clearly and fluently in high quality verbal and written forms appropriate for a professional audience.
  4. Demonstrate effective, professional and ethical engagement in a diverse, workplace setting.
