The HPV vaccine will be available free from the Flinders University Health Service only until 30th June 2009. The Government funding finishes on this date.
Females aged 18 to 26 years are eligible to receive the free vaccine with the first dose given before the woman reaches age 27 years.
The community-based catch-up program finishes on 30 June 2009, so to be eligible for free vaccine, all females aged 18 to 26 must have started the course with their first dose of the vaccine on or before 30 June 2009, and complete all 3 doses by 31 December 2009. If the course is not completed by 31 December 2009, then the cost of the vaccine will be the responsibility of the patient after this date. The approximate cost is $150.00 per dose.
