The census date for a topic is the last day on which a student can withdraw from topics without incurring student contribution amounts (Commonwealth supported student), tuition fees (fee-paying student) and student services and amenities fees.

 

Undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students

2013 Semester topics

The census date for Semester 1 topics is: 31 March 2013.

The census date for Semester 2 topics is: 31 August 2013.

2013 Non-semester topics (e.g. summer schools, intensives)

The census date for non-semester topics in 2013 is the day after 20% of the combined teaching and assessment period has elapsed, unless this day falls on a weekend, in which case the census date will be the following Monday.

Census dates appear on your Confirmation of Enrolment. This can be printed from the Student Information System website by selecting Current Enrolment from the My Enrolment tab.

Research higher degree students

Research higher degree students have a census date for each half-year period (ie 1 January to 30 June and 1 July to 31 December) during their candidature.

Commencing research higher degree students

For students who commence between 1 January and 30 June, the census date is 31 March or 20% from their start date to 30 June, whichever is later.

For students who commence between 1 July and 31 December, the census date is 31 August or 20% from their start date to 31 December, whichever is later.

Continuing research higher degree students

For continuing research higher degree students, census dates are:

  • 31 March for enrolment in the period 1 January to 30 June; and
  • 31 August for enrolment in the period 1 July to 31 December.
