Flinders Human Behaviour & Health Research Unit

Flinders Human Behaviour & Health Research Unit (FHBHRU) is highly recognised for inter-professional education, research, consultancy and clinical service provision for the improvement of health outcomes through behaviour change.

Our objective is to assist people to live well and live longer through improved health behaviours by developing prevention, early intervention and implementation of self-management in chronic disease care; education of health service consumers as well as health practitioner undergraduate, postgraduate and vocational education.

To facilitate this we provide education and training in the Flinders Chronic Condition Management Program™ (Flinders Program™). The program provides a framework and set of tools that have been suitably adapted for various populations, including Indigenous people, veterans, the aged sector as well as those suffering from comorbidity and mental health issues. The Flinders Program has had far reaching benefits in Australia and across the world, empowering people to manage their pathway to improved health and wellbeing.

The Flinders Human Behaviour & Health Research Unit is part of the Department of Psychiatry, School of Medicine in the Faculty of Medicine, Nursing and Health Sciences.
