Main research interest is in the area of eating disorders - bulimia nervosa and anorexia nervosa, including: risk factors (genetic and environmental), diagnostic and classificatory issues; treatment, prevention, the impact of perfection.

Member of the steering committee of the National Eating Disorder Collaboration, commissioned by the Federal Government to formulate a long term approach to the promotion, prevention, early intervention and management for eating disorders to help improve the health outcomes for persons with, or at risk of, eating disorders.
