Alan is project manager for the Flinders Telehealth in the Home initiative which is evaluating a models of palliative, aged care and rehabilitation for services provided to the homes and primary residences of patients and carers in the Southern Adelaide and Fleurieu Region, based on a team approach that integrates the patient, their carers, GPs and other primary health care providers, aged care facilities and specialist services.

Qualifications

Alan has twenty years of experience in the telecommunications, consultancy and health care business in Europe and Africa, as an academic in the UK, and Queensland Health as an ICT strategist, architect and project manager.  He has led numerous health and emergency services initiatives providing telehealth and remote decision support, information systems, telecommunications and networks throughout Queensland.

He holds a degree in Physics and Electronic Engineering, a Masters in Sociology of Science, and a Diploma in Humanitarian Assistance from the Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine. He has gained several major industry awards for the leadership and project management of innovative healthcare projects
