Anatomy; physiology; pathophysiology; health statistics; epidemiology; evidence-based practice for nursing; health informatics.

Research and consultancy

Research interests

Initial education was in neuroanatomy and neurophysiology with a focus on sensory and motor receptor localisation.
Lidia's main research project involves ED patient presentations and  medication preparedness among people with chronic conditions before, after and during disasters and extreme weather events.  The project is funded through a Faculty of Health Sciences Industry Partnerships Research Grant.
Lidia is the inaugural Director of the internationally accredited Flinders University Research Program for Disaster Nursing, an ICN-accredited Centre for International Classification for Nursing Practice (ICNP®) Research and Development program. She is also the Deputy Director of the Flinders University Disaster Research Centre.
Lidia's other major research interest is in compiling a unified disaster glossary. At present over 70 different disaster related glossaries exist with many terms having up to 20 different definitions.
Lidia is eligible to supervise research degree candidates.
