Teaching interests

At Flinders, I was responsible for leading colleagues in creating a truly 'national' postgraduate qualification which can be studied externally online and which allows its graduates to practice anywhere within Australia by covering legal requirements for practice in all States and Territories within the curriculum. I am also chief editor of the textbook which is used by all EH programs around Australia, titled 'Environmental Health in Australia and New Zealand' which remains the only text of its kind to focus on the needs of the regional market.

I continue to hold an interest in environmental health education which spans not only the development of innovative and authentic educational experiences for those aspiring to become EH professionals within Australia, but which goes beyond this to encompass my work with the International Federation of Environmental Health. As the Outgoing Chair of the International Faculty Forum I am interested in promoting educational standards across the sector internationally and working towards the development of agreed standards for EH education to allow graduates from accredited programs across the globe to be able to transfer their skills and educational experiences in becoming pracitioners of the discipline globally.
