Project

Students will gain skills in analysing and presenting research findings in a scientific manner. They will work in small groups under supervision to conduct and report on a small research project. The topic will involve approximately 40 hours of project work over the semester.

The aims of the topic are:

To provide students with 'hands-on' experience in the statistical analysis and interpretation of data
To give students the opportunity to gain skills in reporting research findings in a scientific format (under supervised or guided conditions)

On completion of the topic students should be able to:

Demonstrate their ability to use appropriate statistical procedures for the analysis of data (collected or to be collected)
Interpret and draw appropriate conclusions from the results
Demonstrate their ability to report the outcomes of the study in a scientific format:
- Introduction, method, results and discussion
