Topic description
This topic provides an introduction to feminist political thought. The focus will be on feminist challenges to 'malestream' political science and political theory historically as well as considering some of the principal questions raised by contemporary feminist political theory, and its efforts to construct alternate ways of understanding politics that are gender sensitive. Some of the issues covered by this topic are: the state, democracy, political participation, citizenship, consent, power, patriarchy, rights and difference.
