Topic description
In this workshop-style topic students will work on weekly exercises under the supervision of current industry experts. Areas of study may vary from year to year, but include options from storyboarding, rigging and digital sculpting. This hands-on topic combines a theoretical understanding of multimedia production with a high level of practical experience. Students will also complete a collaborative project for assessment.

The topic is delivered in collaboration with staff at CDW, at their studio workshop.
Educational aims
This topic aims to:

  • Provide students will access to industry standard training opportunities

  • Provide students with opportunities to engage with a specific new technical skill

  • Introduce students to industry level workflows and pipelines

  • Require students to work collaboratively on an industry-level project

  • Develop practical and technical skills

  • Understanding of professional practices

  • Allow students to develop portfolio pieces
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic students will be able to demonstrate the ability to:
