Topic description
This topic will begin by working towards a definition of curatorial and museum studies practice. This approach will be supported by discussion of the notion of curating exhibitions within historical, sociocultural and political frameworks. A range of curated exhibitions across differing cultures, historical eras, and political views and in different kinds of art galleries and museums will be examined on a case study basis.

The topic aims to introduce the field of curatorial and museum studies theory and practice through field trips to Adelaide based exhibitions, both in class time, and/or on weekends.
