Students taking this topic will follow a supervised reading program on selected issues in Women's Studies to be chosen in consultation with the Topic Convenor. The program will involve a critical survey of the literature on a specific problem area. This topic is offered on an individual basis in first or second semester.

This topic aims to:

enable the student to undertake an individual study in a specialised area of expertise
develop the student's ability to research independently

On successful completion of this topic students should be able to demonstrate:

in depth and critical engagement with a body of literature
advanced knowledge of one aspect of this literature
advanced research and writing skills
