Topic description
This topic offers students with a well-defined interest in an aspect of applied linguistics not otherwise catered for, the opportunity to pursue that interest through an extensive program of guided reading, monitored by regular assignments and reports.
Educational aims
This topic aims to:

  • give students the opportunity to undertake independent research in a specialised area of Applied Linguistics

  • analyse and apply theoretical frameworks drawn from the fields of Applied Linguistics

  • develop students' skills in critical thinking

  • develop students' writing skills
