Topic description
Educational aims
This topic aims to:

  • promote an awareness of approaches that inform classroom methodology

  • encourage creative planning of classroom learning experiences

  • highlight the relationship between learner motivation and successful learning outcomes

  • encourage critical thinking about methodologies as used in ESOL

  • promote a reflective approach to practice
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic students will be able to:

  • demonstrate the skills necessary to apply a cohesive unit of study

  • apply daily lesson plans in order to achieve the learning outcomes of the whole unit

  • identify day-to-day strategies which facilitate positive classroom experiences
