|Change to census dates from 2014|
|Flinders University has changed the census dates for semester 1 and semester 2 from set dates in March and August to the Friday of teaching Week 5 in each semester.|
The census date for a topic is the last day on which a student can withdraw from topics without incurring student contribution amounts (Commonwealth supported student), tuition fees (fee-paying student) and student services and amenities fees.
Undergraduate and postgraduate coursework students
2014 Semester topics
The census date is the Friday of teaching week 5 in each semester. In 2014, these census dates are:
- 4 April 2014 for Semester 1 topics; and
- 29 August 2014 for Semester 2 topics
2014 Summer & non-semester topics
The census date for summer & non-semester topics in 2014 is the day after 20% of the combined teaching and assessment period has elapsed, unless this day falls on a weekend, in which case the census date will be the following Monday.
Census dates appear on your Confirmation of Enrolment. This can be printed from the Student Information System website by selecting Current Enrolment from the My Enrolment tab.
Research higher degree students
Research higher degree students have a census date for each half-year period (ie 1 January to 30 June and 1 July to 31 December) during their candidature.
Commencing research higher degree students
For students who commence between 1 July and 31 December, the census date is 31 August or 20% fom their start date to 31 December, whichever is later.
Continuing research higher degree students
For continuing research higher degree students, the census dates in 2014 are:
- 31 March for enrolment in the period 1 January to 30 June; and
- 31 August for enrolment in the period 1 July to 31 December
