This topic focuses on the significance of pharmacology and medication management in pregnancy, labour and birth, the postpartum period and the neonatal care. The topic will address aspects of pharmacology of prescribed and non-prescribed drugs, including complementary therapies, over-the-counter drugs and recreational drugs. This will enable students to integrate principles of pharmacology and medication management into their midwifery practice.
