Topic description

Time to submit your work for publication! This advanced workshop for Bachelor of Creative Arts (Creative Writing) students will focus on developing a short story from idea to complete polished manuscript. Assessment will include researching the appropriate publication opportunities and submitting the work. In this workshop, students will have the opportunity to showcase the writing and editing skills they have developed throughout their degree, resulting in a work of publishable standard.

This topic aims to:

  • Extend creative thinking and creative practices
  • Produce new creative work
  • Practice the process of submitting writing for publication at a professional level
  • Synthesize skills learned from across the course to develop work to a publishable standard
  • Examine the creative industries, specifically publishing markets
