Topic description

Students complete a thesis on a topic to be negotiated with their supervisor.

Educational aims

This topic aims to:

  • Enable students to investigate in depth a specific area dealing with contemporary issues related to legal studies
  • Allow students to engage with a research area relevant to their Honours thesis research
  • Encourage an inter-disciplinary approach to students' research
  • Identify research and implementation strategies appropriate to the issues identified and discussed
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

  1. Adequately undertake and successfully complete a research project dealing with a specific contemporary issue in legal studies
  2. Identify connections between this specific area of research and their Honours thesis
  3. Demonstrate the ability to source and apply relevant materials from a range of disciplines to the chosen specific area of research
  4. Identify strategies appropriate to the issues identified through this research
