Topic description

This topic introduces students to the core techniques used in VFX production. Students will learn the techniques and put into practice: matte painting, rotoscoping, motion capture, match moving, and advanced particles and field effects. Students will bring several of the techniques together in a final production showreel.

This topic aims to:

  • Introduce students to the core VFX production techniques
  • Provide students with practical experience in the core VFX production techniques: matte painting, rotoscoping, motion capture, match moving, and advanced particles and field effects
  • Provide students with the core VFX production techniques necessary to produce a professional quality showreel
