Topic description
In this topic students build upon their existing emergency nursing knowledge and experience, by using specific emergency nursing assessment frame works to further explore emergency best practice treatment options and outcome, of common complex presentations seen in the emergency care setting.
Educational aims
This topic aims for students to develop specialised knowledge of the assessment and management of patients in emergency care environments through the critical exploration of evidence-base principles and practices.
Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:
- Critically Appraise Emergency Nursing triage scales assigned to complex health care presentations
- Evaluate appropriate Emergency Nursing assessment frame works used to assess complex health care presentations
- Evaluate Emergency best practice treatment options, including pharmacology, to treat complex health care presentations
- Self–evaluate knowledge to demonstrate ability to make judgements about future learning needs
