In this topic students will develop specialised knowledge and advanced clinical skills in the area of emergency care nursing.

This topic aims for students to develop specialised knowledge and advanced skills in the emergency care environment.

Expected learning outcomes
On completion of this topic you will be expected to be able to:

  1. Critically discuss the theoretical knowledge that under pins delivery of care and interventions during a primary and secondary survey
  2. Self-evaluate competence and knowledge, demonstrating ability to make judgements about future learning needs
  3. Develop clinical reasoning skills that support decision making in line with policies and procedures relevant to emergency nursing
  4. Demonstrate judgement, adaptability and reasoning in the clinical setting as an emergency practitioner
