HLED9114 Clinical Education Thesis

The Clinical Education thesis involves the design, conduct and scholarly reporting of a significant research project in clinical education.

The Clinical Education thesis is to be based on an original research project that is ethically approved, and conducted under the supervision of two academic staff members from Flinders University. The work is to be reported in a thesis, which can include published material arising out of the work conducted during candidature. The thesis will need to comply with the Flinders University higher degree by research thesis rules.

Students may not enrol in HLED9114 until they have satisfactorily completed all required coursework topics and successfully complete an Interim pre-Confirmation of Candidature Milestone. The thesis may be used as a stepping stone towards a PhD.

The thesis aims to enable students to independently: critique and analyse a complex body of knowledge and literature related to clinical education; integrate and apply knowledge and analytical and practical skills to an area of inquiry; communicate and communicate knowledge and ideas to specialist and non-specialist audiences, and make a significant contribution to clinical education knowledge and practice.
