Topic description
This topic examines the biological, psychological and behavioural nature of sensory, physical and multiple disabilities and examines the educational, support and management strategies required for effective learning and community participation.
Educational aims
This topic aims to provide students with the opportunity to learn about:

  1. Concepts, knowledge and skills relating to the identification, assessment and management of individuals living with sensory impairment and/or physical and multiple disability.

  2. Approaches to developing planned interventions to support learning and participation in meaningful activities for individuals living with sensory and/or physical and multiple disablities.

  3. Educational and intervention strategies that form the basis of programs and interventions for individuals living with sensory and/or physical and multiple disabilities.

  4. Effective ways of delivering inclusive education, supports and interventions to individuals living with sensory, physical and multiple disabilities.
