Topic description
This topic introduces students to community practices of spiritual care. It engages practical wisdom in faith-based communities through reflection and action
Educational aims
This topic aims to:
- provide opportunities for exploring social and theological challenges in pastoral care
- explore relationships between faith-based communities and their local contexts
- provide opportunities for reflecting on the engagement of practical wisdom in community based spiritual care.
Expected learning outcomes
Students who have completed this topic will be able to:
- review theological issues for community based spiritual care
- demonstrate effective spiritual care practices for a range of presenting community needs
- define community based spiritual care responses to local crisis situations
