Professor Gretchen Geng leads as Professor in Innovative Education Futures at Flinders University. She brings over a decade of senior leadership in higher education - at Australian Catholic University, RMIT, Beijing Foreign Studies University and more - and a deep international reputation for work on digital play, XR learning, and early childhood innovation. Her “Playful Reading” framework has already supported tens of thousands of teachers across Southeast Asia and reflects her commitment to transforming learning through technology, creativity and inclusion.
Dr Steve Corrie is Course Coordinator and Strategic Development Co-ordinator (Education) at Flinders University. With more than 28 years’ experience across primary, secondary and tertiary education, Steve draws on his background as a teacher, school leader and principal to support educators in developing culturally responsive and impactful leadership practices.
When you complete the Graduate Certificate in Leadership in Education, you’ve already taken the first step towards a Master of Education or Master of Inclusive and Specialised Education. Your completed topics count directly toward the Master’s degree, meaning you can continue your studies and graduate with a full Master’s qualification when you’re ready. You’ll need a bachelor degree (or equivalent) and at least two years of relevant work experience. Applicants with extensive professional experience may also be considered.

Flinders Online courses are available for Australian or New Zealand citizens, Australian permanent residents, holders of Australian permanent humanitarian visas and Pacific Engagement visa holders.
International students in Australia who hold a student visa are not eligible to apply.

Yes, government-supported HECS-HELP and FEE-HELP loan area available to help eligible students pay for their higher education tuition fees.
Both loans are indexed to reflect changes in the cost of living but are otherwise interest free. HELP Loans must be repaid through the tax system once your income reaches a certain threshold, with payments increasing as your earnings rise.
