Sean is an Associate Professor of Nuclear Engineering who leads education and curriculum development in nuclear science, nuclear safety, regulation and criticality safety. He coordinates Flinders’ postgraduate nuclear education suite, including the Master of Nuclear Science and Technology and the Graduate Diploma in Nuclear Science and Technology.

With more than 15 years of experience across military nuclear operations, safety assurance, regulation and higher education, Sean served as a Royal Navy Marine Engineer Officer specialising in nuclear-powered submarines and taught reactor physics to military and civilian students. He later advised government and defence clients on system safety and risk. Today he works with defence, industry and government partners to build Australia’s nuclear workforce, drawing on real-world case studies and international standards in his teaching.

Jordan is an Associate Professor of Nuclear Engineering, a Chartered Scientist, Chartered Engineer and Chartered Radiation Protection Professional, and a Fellow of the Nuclear Institute. His expertise spans radiation protection and nuclear emergency response. He is the author of Ionising Radiation Protection: A Primer (Springer Nature, 2024) and holds a patent for a fire safe radioactive source container.

Before joining Flinders, Jordan managed the reprocessing of used nuclear fuel at Sellafield, served as a Captain in the British Army, and spent more than five years as a senior lecturer in nuclear emergency response with the UK government’s Nuclear Department. There he trained emergency services and the military, and lectured in Australia as part of a UK-Australia AUKUS initiative. He now coordinates the Graduate Certificate in Radiation Protection.
