This topic aims to broaden students' knowledge, skills and abilities through a placement in a creative enterprise setting. The placement comprises a minimum of 80 hours within a professional workplace and is designed to help students become more fully prepared for a career in the cultural sector. Students are placed according to availability and suitability or they may source their own placement in which support is provided. Students are prepared for their placement before entering into a placement agreement with a host organisation, and this helps guide the work integrated learning experience in which they are supervised and assessed.
This topic aims to have students be ready to enter the creative industries workforce with the skills, capabilities and knowledge basis to recognise extant, new and emerging opportunities in the field of culture, creative industries and enterprise and to develop experience with the practical realities and environment of creative labour and skills.
