Program of study

To qualify for The Master of Education (Leadership and Management), a student must complete 72 units, including approved credit, with a grade of P or NGP or better, according to the program of study listed below.

Students are expected to discuss their option topics with the specialisation coordinator. The final program of study must be approved by the specialisation coordinator.

The Faculty Board may approve an alternative pattern or the inclusion of other topics from an appropriate Graduate Certificate or Masters program offered by the University or another institution.

Core and Specialisation topics are offered on a rotational basis.  

International English Language Pathway

Students who are admitted to the degree under the International English Language Pathway are required to enrol in one or both of the following English Language tuition topics, based on their IELTS entrance score, as part of the option component of the degree.

English Language tuition topics

ESOL9100  Skills for Success: Academic Presentation  (4.5 units)
ESOL9101  Skills for Success: Academic Writing  (4.5 units)

To be eligible to complete the requirements of the degree, students must complete the required English Language tuition topics.

Except with the permission of the Course Coordinator, enrolment in the English Language tuition topics must be undertaken in the first semester of study.

Core - Year 1 & 2 topics

Select at least 4.5 units from:

Core - Research topics

Students must undertake a minimum of 13.5 units of research related topics. The Coursework Project in Education can be undertaken in either the last semester of study, by enrolling in both EDUC9722 and EDUC9723, or over the last two semesters of study by enrolling in 4.5 units per semester.
