Terms and conditions
Parking permits are required to be displayed Monday to Friday 6.00am to 6.00pm all year round.
It is the driver’s responsibility to ensure that when leaving the vehicle that they have parked in the appropriate bay, checked to see if a valid parking permit/s, short term ticket or day ticket is clearly displayed on the vehicle on the lower left hand corner of the front windscreen, on a plastic hang tag from the rear-vision mirror (supplied at purchase when requested), or on the dash board of the vehicle correctly facing upwards so that the valid ticket is clearly visible through the front windscreen of the vehicle when parked on campus.
The University provides dedicated special permit parking bays on campus that are not eligible for use for general day tickets, semester or yearly permits.
Speciality parking bays are clearly marked and sign posted, speciality car park bays include Disability bays, short term 2P bays, reserved and blue permit bays.
If your permit has been forgotten or misplaced and unable to be displayed, you must purchase day or short term ticket from a parking machine for the time required to park legally in the appropriate bay on campus.
Permits are sold Online and registered to valid students and staff, these permits are not transferable or for sale between individuals when no longer required.
No individual can purchase or hold more than one parking permit at any time.
A Permit does not guarantee a parking space on campus.
Available for purchase by current staff and students for daily parking in general car parks sign posted on campus.
General permits allow you to park in general white marked bays in car parks sign posted “day, semester parking”, excluding reserved, blue bays, disability and short term parking bays marked 2P.
General permits are not valid in car parks 6, 13, 17 and 19.
General permits are only valid when correctly displayed on the vehicle parked on campus.
Motor cycle permits
A new parking initiative in 2017 is continuing, allowing motorcycles to park for free without displaying a motorcycle permit when parked in a designated motorcycle bay is being implemented
Dedicated motorcycle bays are located in the following car parks 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14 and 15.
Available for purchase (at Flinders Living – main office) by current students living on the Flinders University campus.
Residents Permits allow you to park in car parks 11 (fenced), 17, 19 and 22 ONLY.
Visitors to the resident are required to park in general white marked parking bays and purchase a day ticket.
Residents motor cycle permits
A new parking initiative in 2017 is continuing, allowing residents with motor cycles to park for free at Flinders Living without displaying a motorcycle permit when parked in a designated motorcycle bay is being implemented.
Please ensure to park only in a designated motorcycle parking bay at Flinders Living.
Mark Oliphant Building permits
Mark Oliphant Building permits are only available for tenant parking at the building. They are not valid at any other University car park.

Blue zone (departmental) permits
Faculties, schools and departments can apply for a departmental permit for staff conducting University business requiring temporary parking in specially marked blue bays.
These permits are only valid if displayed alongside a valid yearly or semester permit.
They are not for permanent allocation for any one person.

Visitor permits (scratch and display)
These scratch and display permits are available for faculties, schools and departments to purchase for use by visitors meeting with University Executive. A General Ledger Journal needs to be completed.
These permits are for parking in blue and general marked bays and are only valid for one day. The permit must be scratched to show the valid date.
Temporary disability permits
Apply for a short-term disability permit through the Health Service. This is a non-renewable, permit available for three - months maximum.
You will need written evidence from a treating medical professional.
These permits are only valid when displayed with an annual, semester or day ticket.
Disabled bays are monitored 24-hours a day and must display a valid permit at all times.
Pregnant staff permit
Available at no cost to pregnant staff and students from 30 weeks gestation and allows parking in all disability parking bays on campus.
This is a short term parking permit and is ONLY valid if displayed in conjunction with a valid semester permit.
Permits can be applied for through Flinders University’s Health & Counselling Services.
If you are a staff member breastfeeding a child in the Child Care Centre, a special parking permit may be available by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
