The combined degrees program of Bachelor of Psychological Science, Bachelor of Criminology requires the completion of 144 units of study.

Admission requirements

For admission to the program, students must apply for admission to the Bachelor of Psychological Science combined degrees through SATAC.

Eligible students who decide to take up the combined degrees program in a subsequent year will be required to apply via university internal transfer, for admission to the Bachelor of Criminology.

Students enrolled in a combined degree program must complete the full program specified within the combined program for each degree before they can graduate with either award.

Students who commence, but subsequently do not wish to complete, the combined degrees program may be eligible to transfer to either the Bachelor of Psychological Science or the Bachelor of Criminology and to receive credit for some, or all, of the topics already completed.

Program of Study

To qualify for the Bachelor of Psychological Science, Bachelor of Criminology, a student must complete 144 units with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic with:

  • a Psychological Science component of 72 units for the Bachelor of Psychological Science; and
  • a Criminology component of 72 units for the Bachelor of Criminology, according to the program of study below.

Bachelor of Psychological Science Component

To qualify for the Bachelor of Psychological Science a student must complete 72 units with a grade of P or NGP or better in each topic. This must include:

Core - Year 1 topics

13.5 units comprising:

PSYC1101 Psychology 1A (4.5 units)
PSYC1102 Psychology 1B (4.5 units)
PSYC1106 Research Methods 1 (4.5 units)

Elective - Year 1 topics

Plus one 4.5 unit elective topic

Core - Year 2 topics

22.5 units comprising:

PSYC2018 Research Methods 2 (4.5 units)
PSYC2019 Personality and Social Psychology (4.5 units)
