New Course in Health Informatics offered 15-19 July 2013 to students enrolled in the Health Care Management awards as well as to non-students.
This 5 day course can be taken as a free-standing ‘short course’ or, in combination with assessment activities, as a 4.5-unit topic (HACM9206) in the Flinders Master of Health Administration program. The course will be facilitated by Mark Brommeyer. Mark has a long career as a health professional and consultant and is actively involved in current developments in health informatics in Australia.

Microsoft Excel for Nurses and Allied Health Professionals

A Flinders University Health Care Management Initiative.
Nursing and Allied Health Professionals looking to gain confidence in using Microsoft Excel will benefit by attending this highly practical program facilitated by Dr Mark Mackay. Mark has been using Microsoft Excel for many years to undertake a variety of work including finance,data analysis and data collection.

Dr Mark Mackay joins the Health Care Management Team
|
We are delighted to welcome Senior Lecturer Dr Mark Mackay, BSc (Hons) BEc BComm PhD to our Department. Mark has more than 20 years’ experience in the design and implementation of practically guided research and analysis, with a strong emphasis on health services research, drawing on his studies in science, economics, commerce and psychology.
He is an accomplished multi-disciplinary researcher, strategic thinker and project manager with experience working across a range of industries, including health, economic development, parliament, treasury, education and new technologies. Mark has experience in teaching in a range of settings, and is looking forward to working with the talented and committed professionals and managers who are our students.
Mark is a founding member of the Nosokinetics Collaboration, which is an international group of researchers and clinicians interested in improving the provision of health (and social) care services through the use of modelling. Mark says he is passionate about helping people to deliver effective health services through making use of their available data and evidence, or helping them to collect what is needed for the job at hand.

Current Health Care Management student Sarah Brown is the manager of The Western Desert Dialysis Project, which has been nominated for a Human Rights award.
