The "0" in various UGT names (e.g. UGT1A04) is to denote that the position of this gene in the UGT1 locus is unknown and cannot be assigned with certainty based on sequence comparisons between species.
Resequencing indicates that Hlug4 is an allelic variant of UGT2B15. The systematic name "UGT2B8" has been reassigned to a form isolated from rat H4IIE hepatoma cells.
, 4 Resequencing indicates that UGT2B4 and UGT2B11 are alleles of the same gene and that UGT2B7 and UGT2B9 are also products of the same gene. Thus, the systematic name "UGT2B9" has been assigned to the first monkey UGT sequenced and "UGT2B11" has been reassigned to the next human gene to be isolated.
The complete human UGT1A gene locus is found in Genbank #AF297093
Zhang et al.
In some cases, the same gene has different accession numbers in both the nucleotide and protein databases. Only some of these accession numbers are listed. The others may be found by searching the databases with the appropriate DNA and protein sequence.
These fish sequences are included to indicate that further families and subfamilies are likely to be identified as the genomes of vertebrates other than mammals are characterised.
Because there are two copies og Ugt1a6 in mice, the original Ugt1a6 was renamed Ugt1a6a. E, Exon.
