They engage with diverse groups, build partnerships with stakeholders, and coordinate initiatives that address local health needs, promote healthy behaviours, and ensure services reach those most at risk.
Health and safety managers develop, implement, and oversee policies to protect the wellbeing of staff and the public. They identify risks, ensure compliance with legislation, and promote safe practices across workplaces or community settings, helping to prevent injury and support overall health outcomes.
Be quipped with the skills to analyse the determinants of health, apply health promotion principles, and work across multidisciplinary settings. Topics cover health promotion, social determinants of health, and primary health care, including international perspectives.
The Graduate Certificate in Health Promotion consists of 18 units, combining core topics with optional units that allow students to explore areas of particular interest. Completion of these units provides a strong foundation in public health and a pathway into the Master of Public Health.

Applicants for the Graduate Certificate in Health Promotion must normally hold an approved bachelor degree or equivalent from an approved tertiary institution.
If you don’t meet our English language entry requirements and need to improve your English language proficiency, you can do so through Flinders University Academy – or our approved English Language Instruction Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS) providers.
This means that you can attend the required English language tuition at approved ELICOS providers and gain direct entry into university without an IELTS or TOEFL test.
