The Department of Disability Studies maintains an active PhD program. Applicants who have achieved an Honours degree in a range of areas, including Disability Studies, will be considered. Where an applicant has not achieved an Honours Degree, or has not gained a high enough grade in their Honours year, additional requirements may apply before entry to candidature is approved.
Study toward a PhD in Disability Studies consists of the completion of a thesis based on original research which must be completed within 41/2 years full time and 9 years part time. Candidates are assigned two supervisors and are required to meet with their supervisors regularly to show evidence of progress.
