Hi there!! My name is Nabil Rashid and I am from Pakistan which is a Muslim state. I completed my MBBS from Karachi, Pakistan. Karachi, the ‘City of Lights’ as it is also known is one of the mega cities of the world and people belonging to different socioeconomic groups reside there.

After completing my house job of one year I joined the Community Health Science Department of a private medical university. The experience of working there was very good. My job was focused towards providing awareness regarding different diseases and empowerment to the people of a squatter settlement area in Karachi . I was also entitled to train the undergraduate students as well.

During my work I realised that I was lagging behind in some areas and I had to educate myself about community and public health. The only way to further enhance my knowledge and skills was to do a Masters ofPublic Health (MPH).

I chose Australia for this course, because my seniors who were working with me had completed their MPH from Australian Universities and that really showed how well they were trained.
Studying this course at Flinders Uni has been very helpful to me in regards to achieving my goals. The Topics have really shown me the depth of public health and simultaneously have also developed within myself the skills to work independently towards the betterment of health of people in any part of the world.
